My name is Emily Sands, formerly Emily Toney.
I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio until I moved to Cookeville, TN in 2015 to work at Roustabout Tattoo. About 3 years later, I opened my very first private studio. In 2019, I moved once more, to open Black Heart Tattoo in Cookeville, Tennessee, a larger tattoo studio to accommodate for my very first apprentice, Devin Eller. I take pride in having a pristine, calm and peaceful workspace that my clients love. I began my apprenticeship in 2011 when I was 16 years old and have been tattooing since. I graduated from Miami Valley Career Technology Center in 2014 with an interest in graphic commercial art and design. I have always enjoyed having many different mediums as an outlet for my artwork and design. I love to make people smile and feel great about themselves. Tattooing is my main focus as of now, and I give a huge thank you to my husband, Justin, for teaching me everything I know about this world as an art and lifestyle. I also enjoy cooking, traveling and visiting with family and friends, and most of all enjoying life with my husband, and my son.
